Located in Istanbloom, one of the most exclusive residences in the city, MY House is a luxury penthouse project by Wangan Studio with a refined industrial design line of masculine lines. Wangan also designed the furniture of the project that aims to achieve a complementary harmony by combining well-crafted high-quality materials with raw materials left to their own devices.
The two-story bookcase, made by Wangan specially for this house and placed over a piece of furniture with an industrial shape, is one of the most striking design elements of the project.
In the entryway of the two-story home, one encounters an open kitchen that stands out for its functional and dynamic form. The antiqued textured countertop, placed in the center of the kitchen area and also serving as a bar, creates harmony with the raw metal cabinets that surround the space.
The glazed cabinet behind the kitchen counter serves to hide the column in the architectural structure of the house and make it more functional while the ribbed cabinets made of glass and raw metal are used to store technical kitchen utensils. To balance this industrial atmosphere, which is focused in the first floor of the house, densely textured sandblasted oak veneers were used for the floors, ceilings and walls.
The second floor is accessed through an iconic staircase and features a study area overlooking the view at the entrance and an adjacent bedroom that can be fully opened if desired. The bathroom area, accessible without a door directly from the right and left side of the headboard of the bed, is one of the most important design details of the project. This bathroom, which features a unique design that includes a block marble bathtub overlooking the view, an open shower area, a sculptural sink, and a custom-designed rusted mirror, continues the line of refined industrial design on the second floor.
