Designed for Contemporary Istanbul’s 20th edition, The Pavilion is envisioned as a social hub where encounters, exchanges, and new collaborations take shape throughout the fair. Shaped with the contributions of partners and collaborations with artists, the space transforms into a stage for CIF Dialogues, where art is spoken, debated, and experienced.

The spatial design of The Pavilion has been created by Contemporary Istanbul’s Design Partner, WANGAN. During your visit, the layered installation of walls and ceilings woven with red fabrics evokes traces of the Tersane İstanbul, while their permeable structures allow for a fluid circulation between scenes. Defined by sharp lines yet softened by transitions, this composition weaves the space layer by layer.

Between your steps, glimpses of the Golden Horn panorama bring the city’s ever-shifting rhythm into The Pavilion, confronting visitors with Istanbul’s dynamic spirit. The pervasive red tone establishes a bold and distilled spatial language within diversity, while the use of industrial mesh curtains, reinterpreted through different applications that introduces a new atmosphere that emphasizes flow and transformation. Subtle undulations across the surfaces render the city’s unceasing movement visible, evoking its sound and density, while cultivating an environment inside The Pavilion that is calm yet constantly in motion.
